STILL JAZZING IT UP!

Fred "The Animal" popped by The Monster last night. A revered drummer who has played along to NYC djs adding a live feel to their sets for decades, Fred's talents were also tapped to pep up the classic house track Jazz It Up with vocals by Barbara Tucker. Fred currently plays at Ladyfag's weekly shindig. I had mentioned in an interview Fred as someone uniquely NYC and he wanted to thank me. He had a print-out of the article. Bless his heart--he couldn't tell me what website it was from and neither could I because we both need reading glasses. But this friendly soul was on his way to see 90 year old drummer Roy Haynes at a jazz club around the corner. Talk about the beat of NY!
