PROTEST AT CARNEGIE HALL
Protest at Carnegie Hall
Putin’s guy to headline Oct. 10 Carnegie Hall concert
Send the Russian government and president Vladimir Putin a message -
Get rid of those anti-gay laws, stop repressing dissent!
57th St. & 7th Ave.
Thursday Oct. 10
6:30 – 7:30 PM
(The protest is *before* the 7:30 concert.)
While conditions in Russia under Putin are worsening for LGBT people
and political dissidents, Putin is using culture as public relations to
whitewash human rights abuses.
Valery Gergiev, the concert’s conductor, is a classical music star
making millions as a major supporter of Putin, touring the world
as a Russian cultural ambassador. Gergiev has refused to condemn his
patron, Putin. Join the protest and turn up the heat!
Carnegie Hall’s management knows what’s going on in
Russia. Why haven’t they raised their voice against Putin?
