A show-stopping number from H. R. Pufnstuf: The Movie, featuring my idol Billie Hayes as Witchiepoo and the indescribable Martha Raye. The movie (not this clip) also features a dynamite song by Mama Cass as a witch singing DIFFERENT. And if the arrangement sounds familair, it's arranged and co-written by Charles Fox, who also wrote the brassy themes from WONDER WOMAN, HAPPY DAYS, LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY, LOVE AMERICAN STYLE, LOVE BOAT, BARBARELLA, and even the Poberta Flack/The Fugees smash KILLING ME SOFTLY. ZAP THE WORLD

Billie has a website where you can see her out of "drag", read her bio, and purchase videos and a Witchiepoo amulet!

Ooh, I remember the Mama Cass song from the film! Loved it! Unfortunately, she was only in the film long enough to sing the song (from what I remember), but she was a standout...

Oh for crap's sake, why don't they make something NEW instead of "remaking"--i.e. RUINING!--things that were good in the first place.

Also I watched the Mama Cass clip, it's funny she's wearing a corset but it isn't cinched at all, whatsoever, a bit.

I clocked that loose corset myself. ANd trust me, I've worn quite a few, but never a loose one! --LB

Apparently (hopefully) the dvd will be available for general release soom. I love the first song Jack Wild sings in the movie.

There is one song that Billie sings, on the show, that doesn't get a lot of mention, but it's nice...(Campfire Grannies~~"Boxkite Caper")and I like the choreography..just in the way she tossed her cane and Dr. Blinkey caught it.

As far as the movie and Mama Cass. She did get more air time. Watch the full movie on youtube, which, as I mentioned, will hopefully be available in general release soon. It was available only in the Uk because that's where Jack Wild was from.
