Who played the fag on classic English sitcom ARE YOU BEING SERVED?, which also featured my idol/twin, Mrs. Slocombe. I guess he also did a little drag on the pantomime scene. A comic genius with an unforgettable face!
I once watched an episode of Are you been served at my mother's house, all she kept saying through the programme was "He's dead" Ooh he's dead" "Oooooh he died very young" Oooh she must be dead by now." She can add John Inman to the list now, the morbid bint! Mrs Slocombe was a cackle with that pussy of hers.
She had fibromyalgia several years back, and was having problems with that, but seemed in good spirits nonetheless...and then there was the "Little Britain" appearance!
Mr. Humphries was one of the first "camp" characters I ever saw. Being a gay man in my twenties who is actively involved with my local Drag Court I will really miss him for his flamboyant role and high camp style. He was one of my favorite comedy characters of all time. Without getting all schmaltzy I think he will go down as one of history's great figures for gay visibility during the sexual revolution.

How I'll miss his voice trilling "I'm freeeeee...!"
Oh how sad! :( He was one of my all-time favorite TV actors.
He would sometimes play his mom on the show as well
it is so hard to imagine that show was on on the 70's
he will be missed
