I can't agree that she is a genius, though many of my friends would disagree vigorously. And trust me, in my girdle, support hose, wigs and thick foundation, I'm well aware of heat irritation. In addition, I'm well aware that Europeans (possibly where this clip was shot) don't always grasp temperature control--their clubs are notoriously sweltering and since there's not much truly hot weather, a/c isn't commonplace there. However, persistent rumors of her bitchiness have prevailed over the years and I think this clip is probably the tip of the iceberg of her attitude. Let me put it this way: hasn't her new-found religion tempered her sourness? Or maybe she was having menopausal hot flashes... I just thought it was an interesting, candid glimpse--whether you love her or hate her or both.

Well it was 9AM...I am sure you were still up from last night!
SHE IS FUCKING MADONNA for God's sake! She's allowed to behave like the DIVA she was born to be! And can you blame her-anyone who's been on a production set knows that those lights, if too close, will scorch you if you're under them for a while. And the interviewer looks boring and intimidated as hell, and Madonna will use that to her advantage. Madonna has done thousands of interviews and how many more times must she answer the same lame questions? P.S.-This interview is not recent. It's a few years old.
Mrs. Ritchie could be having hot flashes from the hormone/fertility treatments she is undergoing in hopes of Baby #3? Then again, I've never been within 1000 ft. of our girl Esther - so what do I know?

But imsene76, surely you must agree that she wants to do the interviews and answer the same questions (when she has something to promote) or she wouldn't consent to them. It's not like they are forcing her. She's probably selling something and wants to get the word out.
And I'm sure that most stars or even unknowns "turn it on" when the camera starts rolling. But when it's rolling and they don't know it, I think we may be seeing the "real" them. I'm not sure that the real Madonna/Esther is terribly pleasant. And I'm basing this on more than this clip. If you worship her performances, then maybe you don't care that she's a bitch. I love Lucille Ball, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford so much that I could care less how mean they were in their personal lives.
But I do have a lot of respect and jealousy for any gal who snagged that hunk Carlos Leon! Ai yi yi!
Madonna's "bitchiness" is a part of her schtick. She sort of comes off as this untouchable, too-cool ice queen, and that's also added to her appeal (i.e., she acts bitchy because that's what people expect).
But pleeeassse! "ESTHER"?! I half expect her to show up on a sitcom in a bad flowered hat, shouting "Fred Sanford, you fish-eyed fool!"
I think she is acting just like most people act in a setting they are uncomfortable/don't want to be in.
She has and will continue to get flak for this "bitchiness" because she is a major public persona.
I've seen plenty of my friends and strangers act worse. My god, have you ever talked to a waiter in NYC about their customers' behaviour? :)
Who cares? she's human and can be a big grouch just like all of us can be.

So Mad Madge of the Madonna kind has set up a new Limited company in the UK called, of all things: Semtex Girls. Let’s face it, only a non-Brit without an understanding of recent British history would introduce the word “Semtex” into a company name, and if anyone was likely to put their dainty “plate of meat” into it — mad Madge was a prime candidate. Although you would have thought Guy could have had a word in her “shell” like!
Semtex, as any Brit over the age of 11 probably knows was the preferred “butchering device” of the infamous IRA. Semtex plastic explosive is manufactured in the Czech Republic and is safe to handle but difficult to trace, since it has no smell — unlike the controversial marketing stench wafting from Semtex Girls!
In fact, a quantity of 0.5 kg/1.1 lb of Semtex is thought to have been the cause of an explosion that destroyed a Pan-American Boeing 747 in flight over Lockerbie, Scotland, December 1988, killing 270 people.
Of course, everyone now wants to know the nature of Mad Madge’s new business. Apparently, she won’t reveal the exact purpose of her new venture but apparently issued the following incomprehensible marketing dribble to Contactmusic:
“The Semtex Girl is a girl who is dynamic, a girl who explodes, who doesn’t know the meaning of nine to five, a girl who is unstoppable and who doesn’t take no for an answer. And has excellent taste”.
Apparently Mad Madge also reassured her male fans (does she have any?) that they’re not exempt and can be Semtex Girls too! Presumably after surgery!
It’s been suggested that Madonna’s new Semtex Girls company could be a fashion brand. A number of commentators have suggested we could soon be seeing Semtex Girls Clothing, T-Shirts, Jackets and Jeans. Sounds a bit cheap and tacky.
So has Mad Madge finally lost her marbles and overstepped the accepted bounds of marketing BS. Most people could probably overlook her exploitation of Qabala to glean attention but to glamorise a substance which has been used to murder innocent civilians and could feasibly be used in the future by pseudo-Muslim terrorists to inflict mass murder is nothing less than spiritually retarded!
