Larry Summers has no business being chair of the Federal Reserve. Sign our petition telling President Obama not to appoint him. The last thing we need is a chair of the Federal Reserve that prioritizes Wall Street over the rest of us. If you aren’t familiar with Summers, he is notorious for dismissing concern over the lack of regulations in financial markets right before the crash in 2008. In fact, in the 1990's he led the charge to deregulate Wall Street in the first place. If that isn’t enough, Summers is also known for his offensive views that women are somehow less capable in science, technology, and economic fields. With women dominating institutions of higher education and taking a lead in the job market, we should have someone at the Federal Reserve who respects the important role women play in our economy and our society.
