REVIEW: THE GREAT GOD PAN

A friend just offered me a ticket to a matinee of The Great God Pan. I went and before the show I asked him what it was about. He quipped "About 1 and 1/2 hours." And that was the biggest and only laugh of the day. What followed was a tense, searing drama about child abuse and the havoc it can wreak later in life. Not a feel-good play by any means, but thoroughly enjoyable and very well-acted. The cast had as many tears flying as the audience did! The lead is played by Jeremy Strong, who is currently appearing in both Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty. I haven't seen either of those but he is doing a fine job in this play. Highly recommended.
