HEALTH CARE VIGIL TUESDAY

NEW POLL YESTERDAY: 60% OF AMERICANS SUPPORT THE PUBLIC OPTION. 86% OF DEMOCRATS SUPPORT IT AND EVEN 33% OF REPUBLICANS DO! BUT WE ARE CLOSE TO LOSING IT BECAUSE OUR POLITICIANS HAVE TAKEN SO MUCH $ FROM INSURANCE AND BIG PHARMA COMPANIES FOR THEIR CAMPAIGNS. AND THE INSURANCE AND PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES SPEND $1.4 PER DAY ON MAKING SURE THAT THEY WIN. WE MAY NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF $, BUT WE STILL HAVE OUR VOICES, DAMMIT!

WHEN NANCY PELOSI ANNOUNCED THAT THE HOUSE BILL WOULD CONTAIN A STRONG PUBLIC OPTION, INSURANCE STOCKS PLUMMETED. THAT'S BECAUSE A STRONG PUBLIC OPTION WOULD OFFER COMPETITION TO THE GOUGING INSURANCE COMPANIES' MONOPOLY ON HEALTH CARE.

WHEN DEMOCRATIC TURNCOAT JOE LIEBERMAN ANNOUNCED AFTER PELOSI'S PRESS CONFERENCE THAT HE WOULD VOTE TO DEFEAT A PUBLIC OPTION, INSURANCE STOCKS ZOOMED UP AGAIN ON THE SAME DAY! WHY DOES LIEBERMAN OPPOSE A PUBLIC OPTION? POSSIBLY BECAUSE HIS WIFE HADASSAH WAS PAID A FORTUNE TO CONSULT FOR HUGE INSURANCE/PHARMA COMPANIES. LIEBERMAN ACTUALLY CAMPAIGNED FOR A SINGLE PAYER (A WAY STRONGER VERSION OF THE PUBLIC OPTION) IN HIS OWN STATE IN CONNECTICUTT BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT'S WHAT HIS CONSTITUENTS WANTED. SO WHY DOES HE NOW TURN AGAINST THE CONSTITUENTS HE REPRESENTS? BECAUSE HE GOT PAID OFF! DON'T JUST SHAKE YOUR HEAD AND SAY "OH, POLITICIANS ARE CORRUPT"--ROOT OUT THAT CORRUPTION!

I DON'T WANT POLITICIANS' RAMPANT CORRUPTION MAKING THE LAWS WHICH AFFECT ME. THE WHOLE NATION IS BEING PUNKED. WHY CAN'T WE JUST WALK INTO A DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND GET TREATED FOR FREE THE WAY THEY DO IN CANADA, ENGLAND, FRANCE--EVEN CUBA! MAYBE WE CAN IF WE'RE PREPARED TO FIGHT!

EVERY DEMOCRAT INTERVIEWED SAYS THAT YOUR CALLS, EMAILS, LETTERS AND APPEARANCES AT PROTESTS MEAN THE WORLD TO THE DEBATE BECAUSE IT SHOWS THE POLITICIANS THAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH $ THEY'VE TAKEN FROM HEALTH CARE/BIG PHARMA, WE THE PEOPLE CAN VOTE THEM OUT IF WE CARE ENOUGH TO GET INVOLVED! IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT INSURANCE REFORM, YOU MUST BE VERY RICH AND SELFISH. IT BREAKS MY HEART TO HEAR OF SENIORS SKIPPING A DAY FROM THEIR MEDICINES BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD THEM. OR PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SENDING THEIR KID TO SCHOOL, PAYING THEIR FUNKY MORTGAGE OR CURING THEIR CANCER? OR PEOPLE WHO LOSE THEIR JOB AND INSURANCE AT THE SAME TIME. WE ARE ENSLAVED BY THIS HORRID INSURANCE MONOPOLY. TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND GET THIS MONKEY OFF OUR BACKS! THAT'S WHY WE VOTED DEMOCRATS IN!

We are rallying together and holding a vigil to highlight the astronomical human and economic costs of our broken health care system - enough is enough! Send a message to your Senators, your Members in the House, and the rest of the United States by showing up and taking a stand! - Our permit doesn't allow us to have open flames, but please BRING FLASHLIGHTS OR LED LIGHTS INSTEAD!!
