NEW ONE woMAN SHOW - "When She was King - THE REMIX!"

FROM DRED:

Please mark your caledars for Sept 26, 2009 for a new versIon of my show "When She Was King- THE REMIX" - new music (saxophonist King TUT, and DJ IKO/Riff Raff), new choreography, new direction, new exploration of characters!!!!

In her new one woMan show "When She Was King - The REMIX'" milDRED takes us through a character-filled, gender-bending,musical, poetic, dancing, comedic, and Theatrical ride through her many SELVES. From a Jamaican gender alchemist, to a gender bending diva! milDRED is renowned for her character appearances, as the queen of disguise that mimes men's and women's roles. Using theatre, dance, poetry, cultural history, and humor, milDRED breaks down racial and gender stereotypes, and conventional gender roles created in society, hoping to create a better understanding and acceptance of the beauty of the expression of one's individual truth. Gerestant has been developing her gender-bending, misogyny attacking character since 1995. "I am very much into breaking down these ‘rules/stories’ that still affect how people, especially women, feel about how we see ourselves, what we think about ourselves, and how people see us," milDRED Gerestant says. With music, body language and a scant number of costume changes right before the audience’s eyes, magic is worked.

8pm and 10pm shows with Q and A after each show!!!!
