Need I say more?

I used to eat mud as a kid, I also used to lick brick walls and go wild frenzy at the smell of freshly creosoted fences. My mother took me to see the doctor, after she caught me licking the earth of a potato. The Dr told her I was lacking in vital minerals due to my staple diet of mainly sweets and chocolates, and also been a vegetarian at such a young age I was lacking in iron. A daily multi-vitimin tablet soon cured my cravings.

Apparently mud eating is all the rage in Africa.

there's also a related disorder in which the sufferer picks at the tounge and or mouth to the point of open sores becasue this stimulates the release of endorphins so it's addictive
