GREAT CARTOON!

Another reason the whole Do we tax the rich or cut social services for the poor? debate is off-target. As this sobering cartoon suggests, if we cared more about equality and  education than the military and prisons, we'd all gladly pay more taxes for free higher education as they do in Norway. Again and again, we're told that free higher education, government-run health care and even green energy are unattainable in the US while they exist in plenty of other countries. Why? Because we're stupid! And other countries are leaving us in the dust as we continue to shaft education. Which makes us stupider. This cartoon suggests that this scenario is creating a "lost generation" and a "nation hurtling toward decline." Happy New Year to ya!
