BUSCH, BRECHT AND BUNNY?
I'm glad I have a few classy friends who read The New Yorker. Leonard Drindell let me know, since I don't read it, that I'm mentioned in an article about TV creator Ryan Murphy: Like several of these showrunners, Murphy loves divas and zing
ers. But he stands out for his aggressive attempts to punch right through TV’s lazier habits, stitching genres together like a mad scientist. Murphy’s finest set pieces evoke Charles Busch and Bertolt Brecht as well as Lady Bunny, theatrical figures willing to risk the ridiculous for a shot at the transcendent."
I don't know who Charles Bushch or Bertolt Brecht are, but I assume that they are very young and attractive trendsetters with mainstream appeal like me. KIDDING! Now can someone please ask Ryan to cast me?
