MACKLEMORE'S PRO-GAY MARRIAGE VIDEO

Get out the handkerchief! Shed a few tears during this ode to gay marriage by a straight artist. My only issue with this is the lyric "If I was gay, I would think hip-hop hates me." Well, hip-hop is often hateful. Towards women. Towards other rappers. Towards competing drug dealers and occasionally towards the police. Hip-hop artists like Nas and Common can inspire, but there's nothing nice about a genre which glamorizes even crimes and life in the streets, where gays have never been too welcome or safe. Hopefully all of this is changing and Macklemore is onto something. Definitely a moving, pretty song with a beautifully shot video.
