FADING STAR JONES

She's leaving The View. But don't worry, she still takes her wig off every day and tapes the weather as her alter ego Al Roker.

I think I know why so many people hate this woman, why? because I know why I hate her. When a big mama jamma thinks she's all that it's somehow off putting (example Oprah) but I guess agressive women are hard to take generally, this may be wrong, but there you are - she makes it easy to dislike her, a little softening goes a long way, (example .....the famous?and talented? Lady Bunnydom.

Anyone who is overly aggressive is off-putting, but Oprah isn't overly aggressive. And Oprah has issues with her looks--but she doesn't think she's "all that". She works at her looks, but she seems warm and not hateful or conceited like Star does. I mean Star's one comment on The VIew about how God had blessed her and her piece because their vaction to tsunami-ville was cancelled so that the two missed the disaster. Off the cuff, but so tacky for her to compare her luck in missing the tsunami as thousands lay dead from it. She's just wrong. And so self-absorbed. Hey, maybe Oprah is too, but just better at hiding it! ---B

Oprah seems extremely self obsessed but she does amazingly good deeds. I know she's always promoting herself and how much she does for other people but the only celebrity who comes close in terms of doing actual good work on behalf of others might be Angelina Jolie. Hate if you want, but there's no denying it.

Anyway, Americans prefer women to stay in their place, especially if they're black. Otherwise they're considered aggressive, uppity, or too big for their britches. I'm no fan of Star Jones, but for Barbara Walters to act like she was the one who was slighted in this mess is beyond absurdity.

Yahoo News claims that "Walters didn't discuss on the air why Reynolds, an original cast member who's been on the show for nine years, wasn't being asked back. She said in an interview Tuesday that research showed audience members were turned off by Reynolds' dramatic weight loss and glitzy wedding to banker Al Reynolds in 2004."

So maybe if she'd stayed fat and married a bum, she'd stilll have a job on The View. --B

Babs said today something akin to ABC had privately informaed Star that her contract was not being renewed for the next season and that Star was given the opportunity to announce on the view that she was leaving for whatever reason and that ABC would back her up and she could find another job and end her reign of menthol cigarette smoked, self absorbed spew on the view with dignity but instead Jones made some bitchy surprise announcement on air yesterday and has since made other shocking revelations since and Barbara Walters also said something like, "We helped make Star at star,"

The last time I saw Star Jones on the view was a few days ago and she wore some big flowy jewel toned runway number to sit down on a talk show. What was she thinking? "Ah, finally I have arrived! I can wear whatevah I want! Look at me, Ma, I'm as big as Oprah!"

There was a fly buzzing around her as she spat her dusty brand of prattle. A fly.

Does anyone else think that the photo on this post makes Star look like Divine in "Pink Flamingoes?"

Doing what she did on LIVE TV has basically ruined any chance for her to get another job on any network. Maybe had she waited until Thursday when it was planned for her to make the statement would have been best, and she would have been seen as a professional instead of jumping the gun. In a week Star will be forgotten. Maybe we'll see her dining with d lister Kathy Lee Gifford in the corner table....let's just hope she doesn't try a singing career like Kathy did after she left Regis. Both untalented tv personalities.....

Kathie Lee Gifford! Ha! You are evil and I love it! But I hate to admit, I am gonna try to watch Star on Larry King tonight. And I admit, I liked Star on The View at first with all those lashes and wigs. Plus, she added a little black girl sass to the other crones, who I don't care too much for. But as her waistline shrunk, her head swelled and I think she showed her true colors.

I always liked Joy Behar, because I thought she was funny, but I never cared for any of the others (especially Baba Wawa). I disliked Star because I perceived her to be anti-gay.

But apparently there's at least one fag she loves! :-)

And that fag is a hunk! --B

Isn't he, though? And he's so handy, too, sewing those doggy outfits and all!

Let's devise a hideous plot to make her look insane and unfaithful...when he's most vulnerable, we'll pounce and make him our own. You can do your best Octavia DiMare, and I'll be...oh...Chris Farley on crack.

Forget it...that'll never work.

The View might just be the worst show on television. To hell with them all.

i'm no Star Jones fan but I'd tolerate a billion Stars to one Airhead, Elizabeth. She's stupid, offensive (in a nice girl next door kinda way, of course), never had an original thought in her Airhead and doesn't have a clue about issues affecting working mothers. Correction: well, maybe not a billion Stars, but please, get rid of Elizabeth!

Just what I have observed while watching the View for nine years>:Star has always gone on the attack when someone does not agree with her. She gives ultimatums in lieu of seeing both sides to the issue. For instance she made a negative statement about same gender marriages. She completely disagreed with it and said how morally wrong it was and put some bible verses behind it to let everyone know in America and over seas how bad "they" are. I was taken aback. She was viscious in her statements and really mean spirited. I changed my opinion of her from she's intelligent to she's narrow minded. I'm sure she has gay people in her family, but doesn't acknowledge them. She wants her ideas to count and no one elses.
