TAMMY FAYE STARLITE AT DUPLEX FRIDAY NIGHT

I caught her outrageously funny and wicked smart act a few years ago and bought both of her cds. I can't say that about any other performer ever--and I'm old. She's that good!  Tammy plays an ignorant blonde southern gal who is crusading against gay marriage--she stole my act!--but she plays it to the hilt and gets very twisted. And what a voice! Definitely worth checking out this Friday.

Tammy Faye Starlite's outrageous 'DOOM 2012' tour comes to The Duplex

Following the triumphant October launch of her Defense Of Opposite Marriage Tour/DOOM 2012 at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles, Tammy Faye Starlite returns to her New York home base for its East Coast premiere Friday night at The Duplex in Greenwich Village.

Starlite’s L.A. show was hailed by Hits Magazine’s Roy Trakin, who said she has “pipes to spare,” an “improvisatory style that combines Lenny Bruce and Sandra Bernhard,” and “a wicked sense of humor that leaves the audience either delighted or outraged, undoubtedly based on their political bent.”
Indeed, her full Tammy Faye show, which she hasn’t performed in New York in several years, will pick up where last month’s election left off.
“The tenor of the country has changed—much to Tammy Faye’s chagrin!” says Tammy Lang, momentarily stepping out of her Tammy Faye Starlite character. “She’s a Tea Party hanger-on-er and a proponent of intolerance, and it’s not the scenario she envisioned.”
