Bunny, I saw Paris is Burning, but I am even MORE confused about the terminology at these Balls...
Please, tell me what do these mean:
1.Butch Queen
2.Femme Queen
3.Butch Queen in Drags Face / Butch Queen up in Drags / Butch Queen Club Kid Face
4.Club Kid Face / Open-To-All Club Kid Face / Open to All Face
I mean, I assume that a Butch Queen is a male, dressed primarily as a male, but very flamboyantly... and a Femme Queen would be a male who primarily dresses (for the balls) as a female, but still flamboyantly.
Then, I assume the butch queen in drags means a normally butch queen just happened to get up in drag for the night...

1. "Butch queen" (BQ) refers to a male who lives as a male, regardless of how masculine or womanly he may be. Never to be confused with the "Butch" category, which is reserved for women who look like men.
2. "Femme queen" (FQ) is basically a MTF tranny usually somewhere in the process of transition -- though NOT a drag queen.
3. "Butch queen in Drags" is a man like Bunny who puts on a wig and womanine clothes and becomes a lady for the night or for lunch. "Butch Queen in Drags Face" means the drag queens are being judged primarily on how their face looks (how their carta sits). Club kid face is a specific makeup effect.
4. "Open to all" means the contestants can be in any category. Unless specified, BQs compete only against other BQs, women vs. women, FQ v. FQ. A butch queen in drag walking in a femme queen category will always get chopped.
5. Anchovies in your knickers might work for "Bazaar" but otherwise is just stinky poo.
PS: they do have balls down South, especially in Atlanta and Charlotte.
