FAYE GOING OFF!

Someone posted a phone message from Miss Dunaway who's a little displeased with something. She's discussing some interview and doesn't want MOMMIE DEAREST to be the focus.

She should embrace "Mommie" it's what she will be best remembered for, she was fabulous in that film!

God! She's such a bitch. Make her shut-up. I guess her performance in Mommie Dearest was no coincidence, she practically is Joan Crawford.

She co-starred with Depp in Albino Alligator and Don Juan DeMarco, anonymous. Oh my God, I love her more than ever after hearing this.

Oh, and did anyone else see Liza on Ellen today? She seemed less insane than she did on Larry King and didn't cough up any phlegm like she did with him, but of course she had to mention "Mama" again. She's SO desperate to be loved. Would someone love her, please? I'd appreciate it.

What's the Lloyd Webber thing? I don't know what that is. But, I don't blame her for being sick of Mommie Dearest. I mean, okay, it's campy, it's over the top, it's Joan Crawford, no wire hangers, blah blah, alright already -- get over it.

She was fired from the lead in a 1994 stage production of Sunset Boulevard, when Andrew Lloyd Webber said she simply could not deliver the singing the part demanded. In response, Dunaway sued Webber for $6,000,000, but lost. Just imagine...Faye Dunaway as Norma Desmond. Weak voice or not, what a lost opportunity.

I must have been the only person on earth who didn't think she was that "over the top" in the message...I've had people bitch at me over the phone like this, and I still love them just the same...:-)

Ooh, I love me some Faye. FYI she was in Don Juan de Marco with Marlon Brando. The movie that was "the hit of all Europe and Cannes" was the brilliant Arizona Dream, directed by Emir Kusturica, with a cast including Johnny Depp, Jerry Lewis, Lili Taylor, Vincent Gallo. A movie that got almost no attention in the US. So she wants to be recognized and judged for the good work she's done, rather than having to waste her time and energy spilling tea about offscreen diva dramatics and ex-husbands. Is that so wrong? As for Mommie Dearest, I love the high camp but it's certainly not her best work. This is a woman who combined intelligence and sultriness in Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown, Network, etc. Truly legendary stuff. Get up off her.

Honey, I worship Faye, onscreen or off! I even watched last TV show once. Was it even on twice? I crave any tidbit and I know posting her message is intrusive and that she has a point about her other films, but Faye is all about drama--the kind only one of the last (beautiful and talented) of Hollywood's screen goddesses can dish it out! --B
