HORRIBLE ACCIDENT
A friend sent me this photo of a horrible highway accident in Holland.
The picture may be kind of hard for some of you to take. If you look
closely you can see what appears to be survivors of the accident still in
the wreckage. Although the picture is quite graphic, it makes you realize
how quickly your loved ones can be taken.
Take a moment today and spend some time with those you love, and let this be
a chilling reminder to all of you that life is short. Hard to believe how
quickly they can be taken from this world.
Have a good weekend and be safe.

I am writing to you as a gay employee in the Greece Central School District, however I prefer to remain anonymous as I fear repercussions from our school district board of education.
This past week, October 15, 2005, our board of education held a regular business meeting.
At this meeting the board was presented a list of 475 extracurricular items to be approved for payment--stipends for the club advisors.
One board member, Mr. Charlie Hubbard, raised a question to the list. As it was a personnel matter the audience did not have the list. He referred specifically to #130 on the list. He went on to make comments about how he could not go back to the people he represents and explain how they were spending money on a Gay-Straight Alliance. He made other comments as well--trying to get the exact text, but these comments were clearly insensitive and discriminatory in nature. This was indeed very sad.
There is a web blog in our community with a fairly active group contributing--both supportive of the board member (i.e., why don't all the fags move to San Francisco) and others calling for his resignation. I am writing to you, to encourage you to help us let this board of education know that the actions of one of their members is not acceptable.
I encourage you to visit the web blog as well as to contact the board clerk--if you do please do not connect me to your contact. I hope you can help. If you do write the clerk, be sure to copy in (C:) the "Board of Education Members," "Superintendent," "Assistant Superintendents" otherwise only the board president will see it and will likely keep it to himself.
